What is Intensive Therapy?
Intensive therapy is an innovative approach that combines the techniques and styles of traditional physical therapy with higher repetition for motor skill acquisition. Intensive therapy consists of 3 hour sessions, 4-5 days per week, for 2 or 3 consecutive weeks.

Who benefits from intensive therapy?
We see children with a variety of disorders and conditions including, but not limited to, Cerebral Palsy, delayed milestones, generalized weakness, Spina Bifida, and other chromosomal disorders. Contact our office to see if your child can benefit from this service.
-
What should I expect the first day of a new intensive?
The first day of the intensive will be similar to an initial evaluation of traditional therapy. We will discuss medical history, previous therapies, equipment, and goals for the intensives. Your child will then be evaluated using a standardized test that will be also completed during the last day of the intensive to measure progress. We will then go over the results and discuss the plan going forward. We will then get to work on achieving new goals!
