What is Intensive Therapy?
Intensive therapy is a specialized approach that combines traditional physical therapy techniques with high-repetition training to accelerate motor skill development. Sessions are three hours per day, four to five days a week, for two to three consecutive weeks, allowing children to make significant progress in a short period.
Who Can Benefit from Intensive Therapy?
Intensive therapy is designed for
children with a range of conditions, including but not limited to: Cerebral Palsy, Delayed milestones, Generalized weakness, Spina Bifida, Chromosomal disorders. If you're unsure whether intensive therapy is right for your child, contact our office to discuss your child’s needs and eligibility.
What Should I Expect on the First Day?
The first day of an intensive session is similar to an initial evaluation in traditional therapy. We will: Discuss medical history, previous therapies, equipment needs, and therapy goals, Conduct a standardized assessment to establish a baseline for measuring progress, Review the results and develop a personalized therapy plan, Begin working toward new
mobility and functional goals.
Do You Accept Insurance for Intensives?
Yes, we bill in-network insurance for
our services.
What Insurance Plans Do You Accept?
We are in-network with most major
medical insurance providers. Contact us to confirm if we accept your plan.
What If My Insurance is Out of Network?
If Salt Marsh Pediatric Therapy is out
of network with your insurance, we offer: A private pay rate for intensives, A superbill that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
How Do I Get Started?
We’re excited to help your child reach new milestones. The next step is to contact our office for a consultation and to schedule an
intensive session.
My Child is Currently in Physical Therapy. Do We Need to Pause?
Yes, your Child’s regular therapy sessions will need to be paused during the intensive program. We will work closely with you and your current provider to ensure continuity of care and meet any insurance requirements.
